mysanityblog.com is dedicated to both Sanity and myself so you’ll find a lot of different entries there and not just about the store, which i hope you enjoy.

Since Sanity is a large part of my life, you’ll obviously see a lot of posts about Sanity the store, Sanitystyle.com and everything else that is Sanity, but you’ll also get to know more about me and Kevin and our lives outside of the store.

Emmy's Red Carpet 2010!


E! just finished up their Live from the Red Carpet hour and I was soooo excited when I saw Ross Matthews interviewing celebs and manning the Glam Cam 360! I think he makes everything more fun!

We just received some great pieces from Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen for men and the pieces look amazing in person.
Check out some of my favorite pics from the line...Kevin is obsessed with this Wax Twill Jacket, $198.
The hood zips down the middle and is lined in ultra soft faux fur.




The Quilted Flannel Jacket, $129 is so cozy and perfect for fall. It is fully lined with quilting and when zipped looks more like a shirt than a jacket so you can be stylin' in even the coldest climates.




Last but not least is Micah Cohen's signature shirt, the double layer long sleeve tee, $59.
Every season we get this in a different version and it's always a big hit.
This season we chose an Olive color.

Kevin and I just returned from an amazing buying trip to Vegas and I can't even begin to describe the amazing items and lines we found!
We ordered a ton of great items for this Holiday 2010 and Spring 2011 and I know it feels so far away, but for next spring think light colors and easy, airy styles. Every line we saw in Vegas, even the lines who are known more for their structured looks were showing this airy, cool, breezy trend and I think it'll be a huge hit with everyone. Girls, think dresses and fun shorts. Pinks, creams, light greys. All of the colors are super easy to style together and the neutral pallet can take you form one season to the next.
Guys, you'll love the super soft tees that are unlike any other that you have felt and chino shorts as well as cord shorts will easily take over your spring/summer wardrobe.

This must have trend for guys is everywhere for fall and almost as big as plaid...almost.

The newest Melissa collaboration shoe has hit Sanity and it looks ah-mazing! Melissa has collaborated with renown designer Jean Paul Gaultier to create a truly stunning shoe, the Jean Paul Gaultier X Melissa. Meet the amazing designer Althea Harper, Project Runway Season 6 contestant and runner up, at the ALTHEA HARPER Trunk Show this Saturday, June 26 from 12pm to 4pm at Sanity in Chagrin Falls!

Sanity alongside Karen Morse, Glamour Magazine's Cleveland Representative will be hosting a very special Trunk Show with Althea's incredible collection, ALTHEA HARPER as well as her second line SITTELLA.

Althea Harper, a runner up on Project Runway season 6 and a breakthrough designer will be showing her current collection at Sanity. Her cutting edge style combines beautiful tailoring and draping with strong silhouettes.

Althea is also knows for her unique work in knit wear as well as her experience working alongside numerous renowned designers, including Anna Sui, Zac Posen, Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood and Tory Burch.

While designing for Tory Burch, she continued to build her own line, self titled ALTHEA HARPER which has shown consistently in

New York fashion week since its debut in September 2009.

Celebrities are falling in love with the line, especially Kourtney Kardashian who was just recently spotted wearing an ALTHEA HARPER dress while out one night.

I am loving the Gray Jean trend, which really isn't even a trend because a good pair of gray jeans never goes out of style. Each year, I find myself going back to my gray jeans and they always look so classic.
While going through my US Weekly's, People Magazine's and online gossip sites, I've noticed celebs rockin' the gray jean trend. If you haven't tried it, I think it's time. The versatility of gray jeans is amazing and they're an all year jean.

I was recently asked, "what current trend can be worn at every age?" and my answer was... ruffles!

Ruffles are everywhere you look and can be worn in so many different ways.
Many women think that ruffles look "young" or are for little girls, but this season those two thoughts are definitely not the case. There is a ruffle for every age.
Every article of clothing this season can be found with ruffles of all sizes. From tops to bottoms to shoes...ruffles are everywhere.
Here are a couple of my favorite pieces that are available now at Sanity in Chagrin Falls as well as Sanitystyle.com.
This lace trim hooded vest ($55) is the perfect example of ruffles that won't overwhelm you. The ruffle detail is very minimal with only a ruffle trim as well as some ruffle detail on the hood (which is easily tucked inside the vest...you don't even know it's there!)

For more ruffles, this Ruffle Front Zip Top ($79) is a great piece! It's a personal favorite of mine. The top is beautiful with interesting details like the zipper in front and long back. You'll swoon over this top when you see it in person.

If you're afraid of ruffles or think they're not for you, I would start small with the ruffles and work them into an outfit that you are already comfortable in. They'll grow on you, you'll see!

There are so many awesome prints out for men this year. There is plaid, floral and graphic just to name a few. Check out these amazing prints from some of our favorite brands Shades of Grey, Comune, Hugo Boss and toddland.

The Hot Stuff Tank from toddland makes me laugh every time i see it, but I still can't get over how cool it is.

Shades of Grey (the former Shades of Greige) came out with this awesome floral shirt with definite Hawaiian inspiration.
The Monaco Shirt looks really great on and lets a guy sport a masculin floral print.

















The Wade Shirt by Comune is a lightweight take on a henley hoodie. This shirt is a great substitute for your favorite hoodie in warmer weather. You have to feel it to believe how lightweight and durable this material really is.


















 Last but not least is the Hugo Boss Orange Label Sheridan Shorts in Blue Plaid.
This is one of my favorite pieces of the season.
I absolutely love the blue plaid for spring and summer and these shorts can take you from brunch to golf to having drinks on a patio.

Us Clevelander's have had such beautiful weather lately and today it's snowing....yes snowing. Starting tomorrow though we are supposed to see sunny days again so my spring mood isn't totally gone. Just put on hold for a day. I still can't help but LOVE spring's hottest trend, floral print. The floral print may look familiar to those who used to watch the original Beverly Hills 90210 because all the girls in the original 90201 used to rock it! Check out these pictures below. The funny thing is, the floral print came back as well as the boyfriend blazer and leggings (even though leggings in my opinion never went out, just took a break. )
