Style Spot Light - Cargo pants and shorts

Posted by Sanity |

The trend that was really big when Kevin and I were growing up is back - The Cargo Pocket. Each year this trend comes back in different ways, but this year we are seeing cargo pockets on everything from jeans to shorts to pants. If the cargo jean isn't quite your thing, try a fun summer pant or short. They are easy and comfortable.
Stop by Sanity or check out Sanitystyle.com for great cargo pocket options!

Celeb Style Love - Chloe Sevigny

Posted by Sanity |

Chloe Sevigny is one of those actresses whose style has always stood out to me and has made me push my style boundaries. I would describe her every day style as frumpy chic, but when award season comes around she always looks stunning and you'll always see her in something unexpected.
Her ever day "frumpy chic" style is what intrigues me and always has. Chloe is one of those people who has a style all her own and everything she wears compliments her personal style and she always looks amazing in everything she wears. Her style is easy, comfortable and has an not-put-together feel.
Chloe also designs a clothing line in collaboration with Opening Ceremony. The line truly is an extension of her style.
Check out some of my fave pictures of Chloe, some pictures are red carpet shots and others are from stunning magazine covers and pages...enjoy!

What time is it? It's Rumba Time!

Posted by Sanity |

Rumba Time watches just arrived at Sanity in Chagrin Falls and they are so vibrant and fun that I can't stop looking at them!
You can choose from 16 colors and my favorite way to wear them is layered with each other.  They are thin enough to pick 3 or more different colors and wear them all together.
I forgot to mention the best part about the watches...they are only $20!

Here's a litttle more info on this fairly new company, Rumba Time:
"While taking three different paths after attending Emory University together, co-founders and close friends Drew Deters, Jay Hartington and Joe Anto found themselves traveling across the globe for their respective careers: Drew as a fashion model and then a professional cyclist, Jay in the field of high fashion after a successful banking career, and Joe in global investments.  Their varied experiences in work and life reinforced a mutual belief that living is about more than just earning a paycheck.

The recent economic collapse only served to strengthen this view, and so the three friends sought to introduce a product that was vibrant and functional, while also having a positive global impact.  “We are living in a period of extreme anxiety,” said Drew, “so we wanted to launch something playful and affordable that would remind people to enjoy life.”  A watch was the perfect solution; “It’s something you look at everyday” said Jay, “with our watch, checking the time becomes a reminder to lighten up, have some fun, and focus on what’s truly important.”  Best of all, at only $20 a watch, RumbaTime’s affordable for everyone.

As avid fitness and outdoor enthusiasts, the three founders wanted something they could wear not only while being active, but also while out on the town in Manhattan.  Lightweight and slender, Rumba’s simple and sleek silicon design is water resistant, durable, and wearable during any occasion.  Offered in a vast array of colors from neon pink to black, the watches can be worn alone or grouped together to match your mood or outfit.  RumbaTime is the ultimate accessory for life on the go."

How to Make it in America

Posted by Sanity |

Over the weekend Kevin and I got to catch up on some shows on TV and there was one in particular that we have been wanting to see, but have missed the first 4 episodes. Thank goodness for On Demand because we're all caught up! This new show on HBO is called "How to Make it in America" It takes place in NYC and is produced by the same people as Entourage so we knew we were going to love it.
I won't ruin the show for you if you plan on watching it, but basically it's about a pair of twentysomething entrepreneurial friends trying to live the American Dream and make it big in the highly competitive fashion scene by creating a US made, high quality, 70's inspired denim line.  Through their adventures they are told numerous times that they should just quit now, they'll never be able to make it in the industry, but they keep pursuing the dream.
You never know how big you can make it until you try.
Catch it Sunday on HBO at 10 pm...let me know what you think!

Oscars 2010 Fashion - My Best Dressed List

Posted by Sanity |

Watch me on the Oscar Fashion Wrap Up on WKYC Good Company here:

Oscars 2010 Fashion wasn't really what I expected. There were some amazing dressed that made my Best Dressed List and then there were a hand full of fashion choices that made my Worst Dressed List, but over all I wasn't very impressed with the fashion on the Oscars Red Carpet lastnight. I found that many of the dressed were quite boring. However, out of all the boring dresses there were a few stunning dresses that put a smile on my face.
Here is my list of my faves in no specific order :
(Btw, most of the pics I snagged from Just Jared)

Amanda Seyfried, one of my favorite actresses from Big Love was wearing this fashion forward gown by Armani Prive. I'm not normally a fan of the "washed out" look, but in this case she looked so stunning and the dress really fit her style.
I thought that choosing this fashion forward neckline was a great choice for Amanda.

Meryl Streep really hit it out of the park in this beautifully draped white Chris March gown. It fit her body beautifully while looking age appropriate without looking matronly. LOVE!

Jennifer Lopez was pretty in pale pink in her Georgio Armani Prive gown. The bust line is eye catching while the side layers are soft and elegant.

OH! SJP in Chanel! In my eyes this was a winner 100%.
The pale yellow was springy and the hardware look on the gown and her wrist was the perfect contrast to the softness of this dress. Many people are saying that they wish she would have shown off her shape, but in most cases she does and I think it was great that she did something different and totally unexpected. Gorgeous... Gorgeous... Gorgeous!

Rachel McAdams in Ellie Saab Haute Couture looked stunning. The detail of the hand pleated bodice was just to die for. Beautiful, muted tones made this dress stand apart from all the rest.

And last but not least on my Best Dressed list is Nicole Richie. Her style has gone through such a transformation as has she. She looks so beautiful and healthy now and she truly looks happy. Her Reem Acra gown complimented her bohemian style really nicely. I don't think any one could have worn this gown as well as Nicole Richie did.

Watch for my Worst Dressed List coming next!!
